The Taliban have declared female education a crime, leaving 1.4 million girls without the right to read. Yet, the regime's view of sanitary pads as Najis (impure) creates a cultural blind spot they refuse to even inspect.
Monotype and Penguin transformed an "untouchable" product, the sanitary pad, into secret educational classes by thermally embossing texts on it.
